I'm J.D. Nordell, a writer living in Madison, Wisconsin. My journalism and essays focus on cultural analysis, gender, and art.

I'm currently the Martha Meier Renk Graduate Fellow in Poetry at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. Previously, I studied physics and art, and then worked for Minnesota Public Radio, where I wrote sketch comedy for A Prairie Home Companion, and also produced Literary Friendships with Garrison Keillor and edited the program Speaking of Faith.
